APP: UNIT CONVERTER

Hello everybody!

Today I wanted to talk about a very useful App called "Unit Converter".

It is a simple and smart tool with more than 30 categories of units that are used in daily life. Some of the measuring units offered are more often used by students than others, and I think this would help kids to discover a world of units in front of them. This is the only Unit Converter App in Google play store that has such a wide range of Unit conversion features with a very simple and optimized user interface. I found this app very interesting because it allows us to do many different conversions. Like for example: currency conversion with more than 160 world currencies and their latest exchange rates, time zone calculator with daylight savings and accurate time differences calculations, you are able to add and customize your favourite units of conversion....

The only weak point I found in this App, is that there are some advertising from time to time and that it is only available for Android.

This App could be interesting for individual use at home during this quarentine period, but also at school.

With this app, I propose an activity called "Learninng & Traveling". The activity would take place on the classroom, and every corner would be a different country. Students would have to travel from country to county and answer a question sheet we would provide them. The questions would related to money, temperature, weight, and distance units. These are some examples:

-How many bananas I can buy in the United Kingdom  with 20€? - For answering this question, they would have to convert euros to pounds, and then check how much cost a banana in pounds in that country. (They would find that information in the corresponding country).

-In Atlanta (Georgia), in the United States of America, right now it is 75º F. Is that hot or cold? - For answering this question, they would have to check how many degrees celsius (ºC) is 75º F.
